Meeting Minutes November 2006
Meeting opened at 7:30 P.M. by N9UDO, Steve, President.

Secretary’s’ report was not read due to it disappearing into Cyber-Space, and not returning.

Treasurers report: Club is still solvent.

Old Business: actually, old/new business:
November Sweeps, 18th and 19th. HF contest to be held at N9UDO’s house. We need operators to help for the 24 hour contest. It starts at 3:00 p.m. on the 18. It ends at 9pm on the 19. However, the stations may only operate for 24 of those hours. Setup will begin at 10am and operating will begin at 3pm. Food and beverages will be provided by Steve and XYL Karen.

Steve has started a new feature on the Sunday night net on 147.315. He has started adding the program "This Week in Amateur Radio". Please let Steve know what you think about the running of this program. Drop him an e-mail with your opinions.

Rick, N9ROY brought up the possibility of our members helping the Salvation Army with the bell ringing at Wal-Mart. If you are interested, please let Rick know and he will contact them with your info.

North Freedom Packet Node: N9UDO, and Don, K9JYX went up to the hill on Saturday, and pulled the cabinet containing the equipment. What they found was a cabinet FULL of mice, and nesting material. The mice did an excellent job of gnawing wires, and ruining other stuff from their..... 'nuff said. The radio was found to be dead, due to a blown fuse, and a dead battery from shorts in wiring. They took them back to the shop and cleaned out the cabinet, but we need a new radio. K9JYX motioned to develop a technical committee to check into purchasing a new radio. Dave, KB9CSW seconded the motion. Carried.

Swapfest news:
N9UDO, and Tom, N9PQJ talked about possibly donating the money needed to cover the increase in rent to hold the Swap meet at the Fairgrounds. By doing this, we would be able to keep the meet at its present location. That along with the donation of the radio by Brad, KB9VMC, we can get accurate advertising out earlier. After discussions, it was decided that N9PQJ would send out e-mails asking for donations to help out. An example would be if 10 people helped out, it would be like 10.00 each. So the more to help, the smaller amount needed from everyone.

New Business:
Christmas Party will be held on January 13th at the Farm Kitchen Restaurant in Baraboo. They have a Prime Rib Buffet on Saturday nights. Drinks at 6:00pm, dinner at 7:00pm. Please make reservations with N9UDO BEFORE the 12th.

Motion by K9JYX to adjourn, seconded by Maury, KA9TBU.

Buck night drawing was held, and N9VWI, John was the winner. As he was NOT present, next drawing will be for $3.00.

Respectfully submitted, Rick, N9ROY
