Meeting Minutes May 6, 2008

Meeting called to order by President Steve Schulze, N9UDO at 7:30pm. Old business: Tom, N9PQJ moved to accept the April minutes as printed. Second by Wayne, W9YYZ. Carried. Don, K9JYX gave the treasurer's report. Gary, W9ULK moved to accept, with a second by Bill, N9NNN. Carried. Steve reminded everyone about the boy scouts Circus Heritage Days coming Saturday, May 17 at the Fairgrounds. They are going to try and launch a balloon depending on winds. Also a VHF station and an HF station will be operating. New Business: Field day is coming on June 28 & 29. Set up Friday evening before. You can camp if you want to. GOTA station was also discussed. Everyone is welcome and this is a chance for the Technician Class people to operate HF. Sunday night YTARC net was brought up for discussion. It was suggested that net control consistently run roll call at 8:00pm then proceed with the news programs or other traffic. This gives every one a chance to check in and know what will be happening. May 10 the Sauk County ARES group is sponsoring a fox hunt with a picnic to follow at Prairie du Sac. All interested parties should meet at the Baraboo High School at 1:00pm for rules and forming of teams. Coordination will be on the YTARC repeater. At the next meeting Steve and Brad will bring the videos of the Richland Center balloon flight that ended up on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. A discussion ensued on other meeting topics but no decisions were made. Meeting adjourned at 8:17pm.
