Meeting Minutes May 2007
|
| |
Meeting called to order by president Steve Schulze, N9UDO at 7:30 p.m.
Tom, N9PQJ moved to approve the April minutes as published. Seconded by Brad, KB9VMC. Carried.
No treasurer’s report as Bill, N9KXX was absent.
Old Business:
Joe, WB9SBD reported on the Star Party and balloon launch on April 20. The balloon reached an altitude of 90,000 feet before bursting. The relief valve did not work and the GPS was acting goofy. Many hams in the surrounding states were able to talk through the cross band repeater. The balloon hovered over Lake Wisconsin for quite a while before coming down 8 miles west of Columbus in a farmer’s field. May try another balloon launch at YTARC swapfest.
New Business:
Steve asked if the members wanted to participate in Circus Heritage Days at the fairgrounds again this year. This is the annual boy scouts encampment. The possibility of a balloon launch was discussed. Tom, N9PQJ and Chris, KC9IZG volunteered to help.
Steve mentioned Field Day coming up on June 23 and 24th this year.
Steve also brought up the fact that our annual swapfest will be in August.
Dave, KB9CSW moved to adjourn. Seconded by Chris, KC9IZG. Meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
Respectfully submitted:
