Meeting Minutes May 2006

Meeting opened at 7:50pm by Club President Steve, N9UDO.
Secretary's report was accepted as submitted by e-mail and published on the web site.
Copies were also handed out at the meeting. Motion made by Tom, N9PQJ, to approve. Seconded by Bill, KC9CVD. Passed by voice vote.
Treasurer's Report: Balance is $3911.79. No outstanding bills.
Old Business:
Circus Heritage Days will be on May 19, 20 and 21 at Fairgrounds in Baraboo. This will be the 20th anniversary show. It starts at 8:00 am, and we need volunteers to assist with the demonstration. Steve will be sending out the papers with our answer tonight after the meeting.
Rick, N9ROY had an ARES/RACES function at Weston High School with the Honor Society. They had their semi-annual "Accident for Prom". Don, K9JYX and Bill, N9NNN assisted with communications. The Honor Society had a fundraiser to help with donations for participating groups and as such, sent a check for $20.00 to the Yellow Thunder Amateur Radio Club. It was suggested to have YTARC deposit the check and issue ARES a check in the same amount. Motion by Bob, W9MZ and seconded by Tom, N9PQJ. Passed by voice vote.
New Business:
We had a Fox hunt before the meeting.
There were 3 teams, consisting of:
KC9CVD
W9ULK
KB9VMC/W9MZ.
The team of KB9VMC took a total of 7 miles to find both foxes.
KC9CVD found fox 1, but not 2. Took 1.1 miles.
N9ULK found fox 1, but not 2. Took 11 miles.
The winners were KB9VMC and W9MZ. Congratulations!!!
The 2 foxes were: Rick, N9ROY, using a simplex repeater using split frequencies.
He placed it between 2 fences at the Baraboo Municipal pool.
Steve, N9UDO was at the Lange Park on the east side of town.
Next foxhunt will be with KB9VMC and W9MZ hiding the fox.
KC9CVD will be helping with the Roxbury Run on Saturday, May 6, from 9am to 11am. This is a 5 and 10 K run. He needs some help with communications at 9 intersections.
The walkers will start at 8:30am and runners start at 9:00am.
Sullivan Weather has cancelled the training on May 6. Sometime this month they will be having it in Columbia County.
Sauk County Airport is having a show on June 17th. This will be an air show, Old Tractors etc. It is being billed as Family entertainment. We might be called to assist with communications.
Saturday, May 6, there will be a test of laser communications between Owen Park and Blue Mounds Park. This is a distance of about 32 miles. It will start about 5pm. Come on out and watch.

Buck night winner was Cliff Johnson, N9AFA. Since he was NOT present at the meeting,
next month's buck night kitty will be up to $2.00!
