Meeting Minutes June 2006
  Steve, N9UDO called the meeting to order at 8:20 p.m. after a busy evening of running the severe weather net that had Rick, N9ROY chasing a tornado down Highway 16 from the Dells to Portage. Rick then assumed incident command where several homes were damaged until Columbia county officials arrived.

New ham Zeb Allen, KC9JOK from Reedsburg was welcomed and congratulated on receiving his license. He was immediately handed a membership form to fill out. Welcome Zeb!

Motion to accept the May meeting minutes as published was made by Tom, N9PQJ and second by Bill, N9NNN.

Bill, N9KXX reported $3911.89 in the treasury.

Under old business:
We were unable to participate in the boy scouts Circus Heritage Days due to manpower problems.

Steve, N9UDO reported on a successful foxhunt at the May Meeting.

Bill, KC9CVD is still looking for people to help at the Sauk Prairie air show. If any one can help, get in contact with him. The Civil Air Patrol will be handling the majority of communications.


New Business:
Steve, N9UDO brought up Field Day June 24 & 25. Set up will be Friday evening in Owen Park after 7:00 p.m. Bring what equipment you want to operate. There will be a wireless network set up for master logging using N3FJP logging software. The club will provide the soda and bring what you want to grill and a dish to pass for the Saturday night meal.

Under other new business Gary, W9ULK mentioned that hams are still needed to help with the Special Olympics being held in Stevens Point. See Gary for details and to volunteer.

Swapfest to be held Aug. 12 from 7:00 a.m. to noon. Discussion followed to see if a different location can be found for future swapfests as the fairgrounds is getting too expensive. Moved by Dave, KB9CSW and seconded by Tom, N9PQJ to stay at the fairgrounds this year and move next year. A possible sight is the hockey rink at Pierce Park. Motion carried. Steve, N9UDO said that the swapfest is ARRL sanctioned.

It was announced that the all ham picnic comprised of the surrounding clubs and ARES/RACES groups will be at Steve's home on City View Rd. in Baraboo. Brats and chicken will be provided. Bring a dish to pass.

Buck night winner was Rick, N9ROY. In his absence the pot goes to $3.00.

Bob, K9JMP moved to adjourn with a second by Paul, KF9RH. Meeting adjourned at 9:29 p.m.
