Meeting Minutes - January 5, 2010

The meeting was called to order by President Steve Schulze (N9UDO) at 7:30 p.m. The minutes from the meeting on December 1, 2009 were distributed and reviewed. Don Evenson (K9JYX) motioned to accept the minutes. Dave Spearing (KB9CSW) seconded this motion. A vote was taken, and the motion passed unanimously. Treasurer Don Evenson (K9JYX) reported that as of 1-05-10, our account balance is $xx16.70. There is one outstanding bill for the annual news letter that Steve (N9UDO) mailed to all members. Old Business: The Arcom controller has been sold to Len Kreyer for $150.00. Our annual Christmas party is January 16, 2010 at RJ's in Portage. The annual news letter has been mailed. If you haven't gotten yours, please contact Steve (N9UDO). New Business: We have received the D-Star combining engineering report. This report indicated that there are several interference issues with D-Star located at 145.255. The report also indicated that there would be virtually no interference issues if we moved D-Star to 145.310. We would then move Echo Link to 145.255, at an alternate site. In the financial part of the report, the quote for all additional equipment is $2981.00 plus shipping. 2 or 3 years ago, YTARC allocated $2000.00 for this project.  Up for discussion is the additional $981.00 plus shipping. After a bit more discussion, Gary Sorensen (W9ULK) made a motion to go ahead with this project, paying these additional costs. Dave (KB9CSW) seconded this motion. A vote was taken and all present voted in favor of the motion. The annual Swapfest is scheduled for August 28, 2010 at the Elk's Club, in Baraboo. Steve (N9UDO) will get the flyers made, and they will be available for distribution shortly. Tom Harrison (N9PQJ) will register the event with ARRL. Brad Pointon (KB9VMC) once again volunteered to donate the grand prize. Thank you, Brad! Don (K9JYX) made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:00, and it was seconded by Tom (N9PQJ).  The vote was unanimous. Our next meeting will be February 2, 2010.
