Meeting Minutes February 2006
|
| |
Meeting opened at 7:30pm by Steve, N9UDO, President.
Minutes of the January meeting were read and discussed. Motion made by Tom, N9PQJ, to accept. Second was by Don, K9JYX. Accepted by voice vote.
Treasurer’s report: $4,072.00 in treasury. No outstanding bills.
Old Business:
Circus City Swapfest fliers have been printed up, and are ready for all members to distribute. We received notice that the Sauk County Fair Board is going to raise the rent on the building we use again this year. Last year it cost us $300.00, and they are raising it to $400.00.
A lively discussion resulted and it was sent to the executive committee to check into other options and report at the next meeting. Some of the choices are to rent one of the other buildings. Example, the Badger building for $150.00, or the John Litcher Pavilion for $150.00. However, there would be a charge for tables and chairs. Motion made by Don, K9JYX, to turn it over to Executive Committee. Second by Dave, KB9CSW. Motion passed by voice vote.
Topics for meeting night were discussed. Duane, N9DG, will be at our March meeting to give a demonstration on “Software Defined Radio”. It promises to be a very interesting program and everyone is encouraged to attend. Other ideas were to have a Fox Hunt in May or June. Pete, WD9JIB, suggested a picnic for one of the summer meetings. This was enthusiastically received. If you have any ideas, please let us know about them.
Bill, N9KXX, mentioned he needs help with teaching classes in Sauk City. He has about 5 or 6 people interested in the classes. Contact him for info.
Discussion pertaining to having our own classes ensued. It was suggested that spring or fall are the best times for classes. It was suggested that we could have an open house meeting at the September meeting and then start classes after that.
