Meeting Minutes December 2006
|
| |
Meeting opened at 7:30 pm by Steve, N9UDO.
Minutes of the last meeting approved as read and published.
Treasurer’s report: We have money in the account.
Old Business – Packet node:
We received a donation of a radio for the packet node from W4KXQ. N9UDO took it home and replaced the battery, and then took it to work, aligned and tuned radio to specs. We wish to thank Sonny, W4KXQ for the WONDERFUL donation. Brad, KB9VMC, Steve, N9UDO and Don, K9JYX all worked on the project. Thanks Guys, it is working great!
Swapfest info:
Tom, N9PQJ, has not sent out the letter looking for volunteers to help offset the cost of rent increase at the Fair Grounds yet. If we can line up 10 people to help out, it would be only $10.00 each. It was decided to include a line on the dues announcement for donations to this cost. The Swapfest will have another radio to use as a door prize. This is thanks to Brad, KB9VMC. We also will have a dual-band Base antenna and 2 mobile dual-band mag-mount antennas. These are from Rick, N9ROY. Thanks Rick.
We will have other prizes also, and we can now include these items in our advertising.
Christmas Party:
Our Christmas Party will be held on January 13, 2007 at the Farm Kitchen Restaurant just south of Baraboo. 6pm cocktails, 7pm dinner. If you plan on attending, please contact Steve, N9UDO at ‘n9udo@yellowthunder.org’ and let him know how many in your party will be attending.
November Sweeps:
Steve reported that the following people helped out at his home QTH for the November Sweeps Contest. Dave, KB9CSW, Maurie, KA9TBU, Joe, WB9SBD, Bill, KA9QFJ, Brad, KB9VMC, and Jim, N9LKY. Thanks to these operators as they made about 160 or so contacts. The exchange was kind of complicated this year. The exchange is the serial number of the contact, then the precedence (ours was m for multi), callsign, last 2 digts of the year call was issued and ARRL section. So an example would be: 001,M,WB9FDZ,70,WI.. Total points will be added up and reported later.
ARRL 10 meter contest:
This was held on December 9 and 10 starting at noon on Saturday. If our secretary had done his job and gotten these minutes to everyone, we could have let you know about the contest.
New Business:
Wisconsin QSO Party will be held on March 11th starting at noon.
We set the meeting dates for 2007. K9JYX motioned for the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm, (or N9UDOs time, which ever comes first) N9PQJ seconded. Passed.
K9JYX motioned for adjournment, seconded by KB9CSW. Passed
Buck night winner was Aaron, N9JRN (for license preservation). He was not present, so at the next meeting the pot will be $4.00.
Respectfully submitted,
Rick, N9ROY club secretary.
