Meeting Minutes April 2007

President Steve Schulze, N9UDO called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Gary, W9ULK moved to accept the March minutes as published. Second by Dave, KB9CSW. Motion passed. Bill, N9KXX club treasurer was not present so no treasurer’s report was available. Old Business: Brad, KB9VMC discussed some ideas on the ambulance/comm-van he recently acquired. He now has a Generac RV generator for it. He is asking for ideas from club members on equipping it and for what kind of functions it could be used for. He also reported that an ACU-1000 controller has been donated for installation in the vehicle. Brad stated that the vehicle will be made available for YTARC use. Joe, WB9SBD reported that the balloon flight is a go for April 20. It will be launched at night during the ‘Star Party’ south east of LaFarge. He finally has a working dual band antenna for it. All are welcome to participate. Driftless Zone Star Party web site: http://www.dzsp.org. Discussion of Lifetime memberships and a club scholarship were tabled until more information is available. This also includes the Bob King, W9QOQ memorial. New Business: The possibility of the club doing some fund raisers was brought up for discussion. Steve, N9UDO mentioned the brat stand the club ran during Sauk Prairies eagle days a few years ago. It brought in some nice money. He is going to check with Bill, N9KXX to see if any dates are available to do a brat stand in Sauk City some Saturday this summer. Upon his presentation of a $20.00 check, new member Bob Shaw, KC9LAT from Poynette was welcomed to the club. He took the recent weekend crash course at UW Space-Place.
